Orienteering Team

Excuse Me, Are You Lost? We're Not!

The Orienteering Team is a land navigation competition through the woods, with just a compass and a map.  Physically demanding, this team involves navigation skills, speed, and agility. Orienteering is an event that requires a combination of physical stamina and the ability to think quickly on your feet.  Cadets also cannot be afraid to get wet or dirty during competition.

Cadets use a magnetic compass and topographical map to find checkpoints on an orienteering course as quickly and accurately as possible. The course’s leg lengths vary from short (3 KM) to long (7 KM).
